- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter (softened + for filling)
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, or rosemary)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add eggs, softened butter, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Melt butter in a pan over medium heat; add minced garlic and cook for about 2 minutes. Stir in herbs and set aside to cool.
- Roll risen dough into a rectangle; spread the garlic herb mixture evenly on top and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice lengthwise; twist the halves together with cut sides facing up.
