Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs and Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then press into the crushed pretzels until fully coated.
- Place the breaded chicken on the baking tray and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 74°C or 165°F).
- While the chicken bakes, heat half of the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
- Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; add remaining milk as needed to reach desired consistency. Mix in remaining cheddar until smooth.
- Serve hot chicken drizzled with mustard-cheddar sauce.
