  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the first pound cake by mixing one box of cake mix with half the butter, 2 eggs, and 2/3 cup milk. Add red food coloring and bake for about 50 minutes. Once cooled, cut out heart shapes.
  3. Repeat with the second box of cake mix without adding food coloring. Layer heart shapes in the batter and bake according to box instructions.
