Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crab meat by draining and patting it dry.
  2. In one shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  3. Lightly coat the crab meat with flour, dip in the egg wash, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated crab pieces in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from oil using tongs or a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
