- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- 2. Combine eggs, ice water, and lemon juice; mix into flour mixture until dough forms. Divide into two pieces and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 3. Toss sliced apples with sugars, cornstarch, and spices.
- 4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out larger dough piece to fit a greased 9×13-inch pan; press into the pan.
- 5. Spread apple filling evenly over the crust, then cover with rolled-out top crust; vent the top by cutting slits.
- 6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before glazing.
